of the Crystal River Valley. <span class=\"citation-12 citation-end-12\">Originally constructed in 1909 as a millinery shop, the building served as a financial hub for the town\u2019s marble-working boom between 1912 and 1918.<\/span> <span class=\"citation-11\">It is architecturally unique as the only known structure in Marble built with <\/span><b data-path-to-node=\"0\" data-index-in-node=\"419\"><span class=\"citation-11\">stacked timber walls<\/span><\/b><span class=\"citation-11 citation-end-11\">, a rugged construction method designed to withstand the harsh mountain environment.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d0aea1d e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"d0aea1d\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9938064 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"9938064\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8c7b81e e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"8c7b81e\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-860b276 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"860b276\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p data-path-to-node=\"1\"><span class=\"citation-10 citation-end-10\">Recognizing its historical value, the Marble Historical Society collaborated with the town to secure its future, spearheading critical fundraising and restoration efforts to prevent the building from falling into ruin.<\/span> <span class=\"citation-9\">Today, the bank has been revitalized as <\/span><b data-path-to-node=\"1\" data-index-in-node=\"259\"><span class=\"citation-9\">The Marble Hub<\/span><\/b><span class=\"citation-9 citation-end-9\">, serving as a vibrant community center and the starting point for historic walking tours.<\/span> <span class=\"citation-8\">Visitors can still see the original <\/span><b data-path-to-node=\"1\" data-index-in-node=\"400\"><span class=\"citation-8\">concrete vault and safe<\/span><\/b><span class=\"citation-8 citation-end-8\">, which remain intact inside, serving as a silent reminder of the town&#8217;s prosperous &#8220;City of Stone&#8221;
