The preservation of the Marble City State Bank<\/b> building stands as a testament to the Marble Historical Society\u2019s<\/b> commitment to saving the architectural “hardwood” of the Crystal River Valley. Originally constructed in 1909 as a millinery shop, the building served as a financial hub for the town\u2019s marble-working boom between 1912 and 1918.<\/span> It is architecturally unique as the only known structure in Marble built with <\/span>stacked timber walls<\/span><\/b>, a rugged construction method designed to withstand the harsh mountain environment.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
